Any flooring which comes in direct contact with hot car tyres requires specific selection to prevent staining and damage. Most water based epoxies floor coatings, water based polyurethanes coatings and acrylic sealers have limited ability to withstand hot/wet tyres from staining and damage. Where possible FORTIS recommend the use of their low solvent based epoxy and polyurethane systems fo high chemical resistance and tyre a scuff resistance.

Clear Coating

For high performance tyre and scuff resistant coating Fortis recommend the the use FORTIS COAT 519 a high solids single pack, aliphatic (non-yellowing) polyurethane. FORTIS ADHESION PROMOTER should be used if aggregate is to be exposed.

If a water based is required as specified in some applications FORTIS COAT 526 can be used in conjuction wtih FORTIS PRIME520C. It is recommend that it be allowed to fully cure (7 days) before car tyre be allowed to rest on it.

Sealer Coat

For low cost dust free workshop where no coating is to be applied use FORTIS CURE HARD DENSIFIER. It densifies and seals the surface greatly reducing the formation of concrete dust

Colored Workshop Coatings

Fortis have a range of epoxy and Polyurethane coatings for each individual requirement. For a performance workshop floor we recommend the use of FORTIS PRIME820 (epoxy primer) followed by two coats for FORTIS COAT 527 (non-yellowing 2 pack polyurethane)
